Privacy Policy

Your Data Belongs to You.

Last updated: June 2026 · All data hosted in the United States · AI services provided by Anthropic, PBC

Clayton is built on a simple principle: what you create, what your team submits, and how you use the platform is your business — not ours. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

1. What We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, password) and information generated through normal use of the platform — such as Claytons you create, submissions you or your team make, and documents you upload. We also collect standard usage data (page views, feature interactions) to improve the product.

2. How We Use It

We use your data to operate and improve Clayton. Specifically: to deliver AI-powered feedback on your team's submissions, to maintain your account, to send important product communications, and to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use your submission content or documents to train AI models, and we do not profile individual users for advertising.

3. Who Can See Your Data

Your submissions and documents are only accessible to you and the leader whose Clayton you used. Team members can only see their own submissions. Platform admins (Sagely Advisory staff) have access to aggregate usage metrics — review counts, scores, activity levels — for operational support, but do not have access to the content of your submissions, uploaded documents, or Clayton interaction history. Records are isolated by user account — each user's data is scoped to their account and cannot be accessed by other users.

4. Third-Party Services

Clayton uses Anthropic to power AI feedback. Your submission content is sent to Anthropic's API solely to generate feedback and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. We use Stripe for payment processing — we never store your full credit card details. We do not sell data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, you may request deletion of your data by contacting us. Certain records may be retained for legal compliance purposes for up to 7 years.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at . We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Clayton is designed for professional use and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
